The Regional Monitoring System (RMS) is managed by the Coastal Stewardship Network (CSN), a program of Coastal First Nations – Great Bear Initiative. The goals of the RMS are to: provide a standardized approach to monitoring priority resource stewardship issues at a regional scale (BC North Coast, Central Coast, and Haida Gwaii); create tools for First Nations to collect, store, and retrieve their data; compile and compare coast-wide data for use by member First Nations; and empower each First Nation to use its information for planning and decision-making.
